Springfield Christian School Admission Procedures
  1. Before applying, read these materials carefully to determine whether Springfield Christian Schools offers the type of education you want for your child.

  2. Complete the Application for Admission and the Parent Agreement.

  3. Return the completed application along with the registration fee and Parent Agreement to Springfield Christian Schools, 311 W. High Street, Springfield, Ohio 45506. You should give the Pastor’s Questionnaire to your family’s current pastor unless you have recently moved or are currently between ministries, in which case please inform us. Either you or the pastor can return the form to us.

  4. After your application has been returned, you will be contacted to arrange a date for the testing of the child(ren) and an interview with both parents and the children.

  5. The test administered to students entering 1-8 is the Otis Lennon School Ability test and is used to help determine if our program will meet your child’s needs.

  6. Either group-testing or individually administered tests may be conducted with students entering grades 1-8. Only individually administered readiness tests are conducted with students entering Kindergarten.

  7. On the date of testing please bring:

    • Birth certificate

    • Immunization records

    • Most recent report card from the school last attended

    • Child’s social security number

  8. So that you might better understand our philosophy, and the philosophy of Christian education in general, we are requesting that you read the enclosed brochures.

  9. In the event there are no vacancies in a particular grade, a waiting list will be established. As openings occur, the applications will be processed in the order they have been received.

ADMISSION POLICIES

  • I. GENERAL

    • In order to establish guidelines for admission to Springfield Christian Schools, the following policies are adopted by the School Board of Education:

      1. The Administration is given the authority to admit qualified students.

      2. Approval by the School Board of Education is required on any exception to the following policies.

  • II. POLICIES

    1. All students and their parents or guardians applying for admission to Springfield Christian Schools shall meet with an Admissions Committee comprised of either/or the principal and/or the administrator of the admissions test. Teachers and/ or a member(s) of the Board may be required to participate in the Admissions Committee.

    2. The Admissions Committee is given the authority to admit qualified students. Approval by the school Board of Education is required in any exception to the following policies:

      1. A parent or parents must subscribe to the Statement of Faith of Springfield Christian Schools and desire to cooperate with us to develop their child so that he/she will be a strong Christian.

      2. The student is capable of academic success at Springfield Christian Schools as indicated by school records and standardized test results.

      3. The student has been promoted the preceding school year or the parents are willing to have him/her repeat if deemed necessary by Springfield Christian Schools.

      4. The student has a sufficiently positive record of discipline and emotional adjustment to school to insure adjustment at Springfield Christian Schools.

      5. The student does not have a court record.

      6. We encourage the student and his family to faithfully attend a Bible-believing church.

    3. Children applying for admissions to kindergarten must be five years of age on or before September 30th.

    4. Any child applying for first grade must be six years of age on or before September 30th.

    5. Springfield Christian Schools makes no distinction concerning an individual’s race or ethnic background, because we acknowledge that there can be no preferential treatment with God (Romans 2:11).

    6. Springfield Christian Schools’ biblical role is to work in conjunction with the home to mold students to be Christ like. On occasion, the atmosphere or conduct within a particular home may be counter or in opposition to the biblical lifestyle the school teaches. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, sexual immorality, homosexual sexual orientation, or inability to support the moral principles of the school. In such cases, the school reserves the right, within its sole discretion, to refuse admission of an applicant or to discontinue enrollment of a student.

    NOTE:

    Springfield Christian Schools admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs because we acknowledge that there can be no preferential treatment with God (Romans 2:11).
